berlin

I feel like I've been away from blogging for so long, not just my own but I haven't even had the chance to so much look at any blogs these past few weeks. My uni timetable is hectic and I'm basically running  around like a headless chicken most of the time. Uni days  here start at 8.15am and can end as late as 6.45pm, which to any student in the UK probably seems insane. Monday and Tuesday I have lectures ALL day so by the time I'm home I'm exhausted. Anyway enough self pitying I wanted to share some of my photos from the trip we made to Berlin this weekend. Enjoy :).

Berliner Dom

Altes Museum

Humboldt University

Brandenburg Gate

Chanel Little Black Jacket Exhibition

Berliner Mauer (Berlin Wall)

This was my first time to Berlin and it is definitely on a par with London and Paris in terms of eccentricity. It's full of beautiful buildings, art hidden away all over the city and trendy people everywhere you look which makes it so cosmopolitan and loveable. I'm hoping to go back again as there's so much to do! I won't bore you to death with details but feel free to ask me any questions if you're planning a trip there!

another blogger, another beanie

beanie;Primark necklace;Rock 'n Rose jacket;H&M old fur stole;New Look boots; ASOS

Okay so this is the third outfit post in a row I've worn a beanie but it's so cold outside who cares?! This one was about €4 in Primark and I love it! The necklace is from Rock 'n Rose and I was so happy when I saw they had brought old the gold version of it, purchased it straight away! Yay! Just a quick post today as I have so much uni work to be getting on with and my Mum & brother are coming to visit this weekend so I need to get a move on :).

christmas beauty wish list

I've seen so many Christmas wish lists around the blogosphere I couldn't resist the urge in creating my own. Christmas is one of those times when it's okay to spend obscene amounts of money on beauty and cosmetics, a time when it's okay to ask for that £40 Chanel eyeshadow palette, or for the £60 Dior perfume you've wanted for so long but otherwise haven't been able to afford.

I've created a little list of my 'most wanted' things; some basic and some I necessarily couldn't afford to buy for myself on a regular basis.

Christmas Beauty Wish List
Real Techniques travel essentials; eBay clear makeup organiser; Real Techniques blush brush; Origins morning to midnight set; Clinique makeup brush cleanser: Nars Limited Edition Edie gift set; REN glycolactic radiance renewal mask

1. Real Techniques is a brand I've been eyeing up for a while. I have read rave reviews about their brushes, and they are such an affordable price compared to some of the luxury brands. This set is the travel essentials and contains: the foundation, multi task and domed shadow brushes.

2. I've been in need of makeup organiser for a very long time. As I'm always flitting between home and University my makeup just lives in cosmetics cases and is kind of here there and everywhere. When I am home though this would just be the perfect addition to my dressing table to keep everything neat and tidy.

3. Another essential to any brush collection: the blush brush

4. Origins is one of those brands I've been meaning to try for such a long time, but there are just too many products to choose from! The Morning to Midnight set contains an intensive over night mask, eye cream, an SPF moisturiser and a full size night cream. This way you get to try a variety of products at a fraction of the price!

5. Imagine never washing your clothes but continuing to wear them, it's essentially the same with makeup brushes. They have to be washed regularly as they breed bacteria, and as disgusting as it sounds when you spend a lot of money on brushes what's the point in letting them get filthy and then spreading that all over your face. I know I am particularly bad at doing this so hopefully this  Clinique brush cleanser will remind me to!

6. I nearly cried when I saw this gift set (okay maybe a slight exaggeration) but Nars is a brand which I only started to use recently but absolutely love. Their products are so luxurious and long lasting and this colour palette is just a dream. Straight to the top of my wish list!

7. Last but not least, the famous REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal mask. This is another one of those products I've wanted to get my grubby mitts on for such a long time but couldn't quite justify spending that much money on my student budget. Another product with brilliant reviews everywhere you look. Hopefully santa will be kind!

Have you created any Christmas wish lists this year? Send me your links I'd love to see :).

tartan me up

bobble hat;H&M scarf;Urban Outfitters dress;H&M bag;Zara rings;Primark

I mentioned in my October wish list that I wanted to get my mitts on a tartan scarf and voila one tartan scarf. This one is actually from the men’s section in Urban Outfitters which my brother picked up and posted to me last week. It’s so soft and warm and perfect for throwing on with an all black outfit.

I also have this massive thing for bobble hats at the moment, possibly because the Germans are sensible and wrap up super well and I’ve followed suit and finally realised hats are warm! I always thought hats didn’t suit me, but in the past two weeks I’ve ended up with about five including this one ^^ and a neon green bobble one from Primark which I love! Hopefully I can get it in an outfit post soon.

Finally, I'd just like to say a huge thank you to the 55 people following me on google friend connect! 50 is kind of a milestone and I check each and every time I get a new follower and it really is so nice you actually want to read what I put on here. It's one thing forcing family and friends to read my blog (in the nicest way possible) but it's so amazing that you guys actually want to see what I have to say and leave comments. It means a lot!

winter care

Balea Cleansing Milk; Alverde Apricot Face Scrub; Balea Indian Chai Body Scrub; Dove Intensive Nourishment Hand Cream; Garnier Intensive Skin Smoothing Cream; L'Oreal Anti Breakage Hair Tips Concentrate; L'Oreal Extraordinary Oil

So it's November already, I can't quite believe it and that means just over a month until I fly home for Christmas. I'm so excited! It also means it's getting colder outside and it's time to step it up a notch on the beauty regime. I've been well overdue some much needed pampering but with my favourite go to brand for pampering Soap & Glory being very difficult to find and horrendously expensive in Germany, I've neglected my skin a little bit recently!

When I'd finally had enough of my dry skin and broken hair  I took a little trip to 'dm' to stock up on some drugstore exfoliating and nourishing products to make sure I'm radiant and glowing in time for Christmas.

The dm own brand 'balea' products smell delicious, the apricot facial scrub reminds me of the St Ives products in the UK and the indian chai body exfoliator also smells amazing!

I don't know why but I was always so reluctant to using hand cream as I thought they used to make my hands really greasy, making it impossible to do anything! Well anyway I was wrong and I've only been using this Dove one for a few days and my hands are soft already!

Next is just a basic intensive moisturiser from Garnier. I didn't want anything too fancy or heavily perfumed I just wanted something that will really moisturise and keep my skin soft and supple. I couldn't find this exact product in the UK but I'm sure there are similar alternatives.

I was only introduced to hair oils a month ago and I have to say I wish someone had bought them to my attention sooner. The L'Oreal anti breakage hair tips concentrate is a life saving product. You apply one pump to the end of your hair as often as you need it to strengthen and protect the hair tips and to reduce the look of split ends. This really is a miracle product for anyone wishing to grow their hair long but  having dry split ends which make it look unhealthy and in need of a cut! My hair looks so sleek and shiny after using this but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be sold anywhere in the UK.

Finally, I'm now on my second bottle of the L'oreal Extraordinary Oil. I posted about it here and you have probably seen the adverts for it on the TV. It really is a miracle product and does exactly what it says it will. I use the version for coloured hair but there is also one available for all hair types.

What are your favourite winter skin care products? I'd love to hear your recommendations :).

happy halloween

Understated and me don't really go together, the crazier and more glittery the better! This is my take on pumpkin nails in preparation for tomorrow (I'm not even doing anything but who needs an excuse anyway?!) I think they're quite cute and really easy to do, what do you reckon?

trip to cologne

Cologne cathedral / Kölner Dom

climbed 500 steps to get up here but amazing views!

best meal I've had since being here: veggie lasagne

Lindt chocolate museum

I guess it's not very interesting for everyone to read about what 'tourist' activities I get up to, unless you are planning on visiting Germany of course, but this was basically the first day out that didn't just involve going shopping and getting drunk. We decided to visit Cologne on Saturday as I was so desperate to visit the chocolate museum (even though I'm not supposed to eat it right now because I'm on a lactose free diet) but it really was too good not to. The weather was beautiful as you can see and I haven't even edited these pictures... the sky really was that blue! We climbed to the top of the cathedral which makes up for eating so much chocolate and the views were incredible. We definitely picked the best day to visit as there was barely a cloud in the sky and we could see for miles, amazing!

Hope you all had lovely weekends!
